Is your skin & body care routine confusing you?

Updated: Nov 30, 2021

The world of skincare has become a rabbit hole for those looking to explore all their options endlessly. With approximately a bajillion products on the market (just a ballpark), it can be hard to make sense of what you need and want to keep ALL of your skin happy!

My Reality

Most Mornings I'd put approximately 500 lotions "ok, slight exaggeration", creams and herbal mists on my face, and my body, if it asked nicely, may get a blob of coconut oil.

If you look after your beautiful face, it's essential to take care of our body too. Whilst your body may not be exposed to as much sun, and air pollution as your face, sagginess, dullness, and discolouration exist below the neck too. And I believe your bum should shine just as brightly as your face.

Let's get these bums shinning!!

1. A Gentle Cleanse.

You might be surprised to learn that many common ingredients in body washes are actually detrimental to your skin. Perfumes, dyes and harsh soap can dry out the surface of our delicate pores, leaving us with a hastened ageing process or even causing allergic reactions from people who have sensitive skins! So instead, choose products containing natural moisturizing ingredients such as shea butter, plant oils that help moisturize without irritants while also being gentle on all types, including more mature complexions.

2. Be Gone Dead Skin.

Shed those dead skin cells like a snake. Like your face, your body can do with a bit of exfoliation.

The only catch? Figure out the frequency that works best for your skin — and don't go overboard. We advise anywhere "from once a week for every one to three or four times a week if you have issues such as acne, rough elbows, and dry skin."

3. Shaving

Ugh. Is there anything less fun than shaving your legs? Yes, there is — shaving your legs and your bikini line.

"If you first exfoliate, you'll bring the hairs completely out of the follicles,"

This lessens the risk of ingrown hairs and irritation.

You should also hydrate and soften first soaking in a tub or taking a shower. Most use a shaving gel, I, however, use MOOSKIN's Care perfectly natural body oil that makes my experience of shaving a much nicer one, and it means my skin is immediately treated and moisturized.

4. A Little Treat

Moisturising right after showering helps trap some of the water in your skin, keeping it hydrated,"

Unlike your face, you can probably get away with using heavier ingredients like coconut or almond oil on the body without fearing clogged pores and breakouts. That said, if you're acne-prone, you might want to stick to a lotion.

Look for products with proven moisturizing and healing ingredients. We've made it super easy for you; head over to shop and see the only products you need to achieve your dream skin.
